Hopefully we are coming to a collective understanding that the appropriate, dignified response to a system fucking us in the face for fun and profit is to understand that we are not its victim but that we, all 8 billion of us, are stronger than it and could, if we put our collective minds and hearts to it, create alternatives and flick it off.
I'm so glad you chose to vent on this topic. Air travel used to be fun and exciting. Since 9/11 it has become tedious and, as you say, increasingly humiliating, especially at larger airports. The humanity seems to be trained out of the TSA and the airline staff.
Given up flying. In Europe if you have the time trains sre a viable option. Often when you factor in time and expense getting to and from the airport, extra charges for luggage, all the stress and the likelihood of delays train is the better option.
When I was in the Marines in 2009, flying through a civilian airport in our own C-130s, we were made to go through TSA security.
Every time I flew, I got a love note from the TSA in my large bag. Every time I went through TSA, I was molested even though I had already been irradiated (which at the time was supposed to be a choice).
An active duty ID was meaningless. "Same team" was meaningless.
I haven't flown since 2013.
I can assure you, Greyhound and Amtrak are not dignified experiences either.
This strikes a chord. Now there are many places we cannot enter without being subject to scrutiny, searches, scans and metal detectors. This includes sporting events, courts, and even some public schools.
The COVID experience introduced dehumanizing experiences into the hearts of our workplaces. I had to enter the building at a specific designated entry, at specifically designated times, greeted at the door by a member of management equipped with clipboard and personal questionnaire, proving detailed questions regarding your current health status, day after day, week after week. PCR testing by affiliated hospital mandatory in order to come to work, once a week obediently tilt your head back while an unknown healthcare worker drills derp into sinuses next to one's brain, in search of faint traces of viral signatures for a virus that was supposedly lethal to others at a 6 foot distance. Insanely degrading was the insistence that one be injected with a not fully tested mystery concoction deemed "safe" by those who stood to make billions from the shot, while legitimate questions of how these shots might affect one's own genetic makeup were mocked and derided. Those who rightly questioned the willing compliance to turn one's very cells into little factories producing a pathological, foreign protein were made the scapegoats, blamed wrongfully for the failure of the injections to end the "pandemic", and fired for holding on to their own dignity and preserving their God given genetic makeup - the essence of our very being.
Healthcare has reduced us, and the records of our medical experiences, into a series of patient numbers, account numbers, and codes which define our medical realities as determined by insurance companies. Working within that system strips one of the respect and dignity that ought to be afforded to those in need of care. How do people suffering with ailments find the time and patience to sign in and out of portals, challenge conniving insurance companies over unpaid claims - companies who'd rather play the game of beating down their customers with wrongful denials rather than pay a legitimate claim. No dignity in spending 2 1/2 hours trying to break through a bewildering robotic phone tree of non-applicable options while desperately trying to figure out how to get to an elusive human with the ability to understand and help with one's questions.
Back to the author's original topic....I too remember when flying was considered special and somewhat glamorous. Hot meals were served, morning flights might mean waffles and eggs. One could wave goodbye to one's loved ones from the window of the plane while they watched from the gate, instead of trying to wave goodbye over a long full corridor of people roped into serpentine rows, all waiting to remove shoes and belts, remove laptops from cases, throw away all sizable containers of all liquids, and get barked at loudly by low paid uniformed TSA officers when it comes one's time to load up the plastic X-ray bin with everything you're carrying as well as every scrap of tissue that might inadvertently remain in your pockets.
Yes, all of it dehumanizing, perhaps for the sake of expediency, perhaps for the sake of "safety".
I'd much rather drive 1200 miles than fly. Computers and expediency guarantee more of same in all aspects of life. The business that figures out how to help people efficiently without 17 minute hold times, website registrations and passwords, providing knowledgeable capable person to person service, will win us over every time. And by the way, is it really truly necessary to ask us to fill out a digital customer experience survey for every single item we buy, and every single phone call we make? "You recently purchased a 10' 2x4 at the home Depot. How would you rate your satisfaction with this product? Please write a review.". Good grief, it's a piece of wood. Get over yourselves and leave me alone
The only escape from all this in my view is to get off their systems. Once people experience the unnecessary inconvenience of doing so, they will look for alternatives. But the numbers of people opting out of the system are so small that they don't stand a chance against the masses who continue to comply with it and succumb to it. We should stand up for our dignity some time surely? It's already well overdue, and these vipers never get enough of our "loosh" - emotional angst that they feed off. But it is ordinary people who impose it remember. People working for a paycheck. Oh boy do they have us by the short and curlies with that one - having a job.
Cy, the same thought came to mind when I read this. However, I'll go a bit deeper on medicine and healthcare. What most don't realize is they are now treated by 'flow sheets' in the EHR. The EHR is now driving your treatment rather than your provider. Just as experienced pilots are being replaced by green drones following orders, experienced physicians are being replaced by drones that treat you according to what the EHR suggests.
I think there's research showing they go in to medicine for power/status. If a candidate professes a sincere desire to help, they're actively discouraged from becoming an MD.
Josh, I think the airline industry knew that they could take us all to the cleaners when they started 'self check-in' and realized just how much we were willing to do under the illusion of 'convenience. We will check ourselves in, scan and bag our own groceries, coordinate all of our own banking, pump our own gas, and have an invasive surgery with outpatient recovery, all the while denying the need to hire more workers in the economy.
For all their real and supposed ethical flaws, Zimbardo's Stanford Prison Experiment and Milgram's Experiments unequivocally showed how easily average people can be induced by illegitimate authority to commit inhumane acts against other average people. Many 'more ethical' versions have replicated the original theses, but these seminal works are deliberately kept hidden from wider public view, branded as heinous as Mengele's abuses. And when they are discussed, the focus is on those 'ethical flaws', rather than the fact the basic premises are sound.
Zimbardo randomly selected students to play either guard or prisoner roles, so the idea that only those with a psycho-social bent towards abusing others is the problem. Nope, 'average' people will generally do what they are told, or as the SPE showed, will willingly fulfill the role they were arbitrarily given.
While Jane Elliott was credited in 1968 with creating the "Blue/Brown Eyes experiment", I distinctly recall my 2nd Grade teacher doing a similar 'test'... in 1960, when I was 7 years old. 'Coincidentally', that was the year a black girl joined our class, the only African-Canadian in our ~300 student K-8 school. Eye colour discrimination substituted for skin colour, clever, no? But I didn't even realize skin colour was a 'thing' until my older brother asked me who the 'black girl' was in my class photo... I had no idea what he was on about until he literally put his finger on her face in the photo... "That's Laura" was my innocent reply. Just another kid in my class, and by far the smartest one. (she committed suicide in her early 20's, couldn't take the racism in 'polite' Canadian society) We perpetuate the biases we are taught, children don't 'see' skin colour until someone older points it out.
Milgram and Zimbardo's revelations SHOULD lead us 'average people' to carefully examine the legitimacy of our 'leaders'. Religions are unquestioningly adhered to.
Elections do NOT confer absolute power to the winners, but we consistently see rule by political, bureaucratic, corporate and militarist fiat as a major feature of most Western 'democracies'. "There is no alternative", Hatchet Thatcher famously proclaimed. Joined together as we see today, ideology and politics make for a toxic mix.
The Rothschild/Adelson/AIPAC/WEF Class are obviously fully aware of this, and use it as behaviour control to illegitimately achieve their psychotic goals of world domination.
“Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men, even when they exercise influence and not authority; still more when you superadd the tendency of the certainty of corruption by authority.”
What is "illegitimate authority"? No authority is legitimate. It's only in the way we view authority - do we think authority is legitimate or not? I see that nobody has authority over another, unless one consents to it. I'm speaking about adults here not children. We are not children, I wish we would behave like adults and totally reject the idea that ANYONE can have authority over another. This would change the world drastically. It is one of the two things that keep us enslaved - the believe in authority and the second one is a debt-issued money system.
WRONG. Authority is legitimate when it has the support of a majority/CONSENSUS of those in the PARTICULAR society. I don't want to live in China, but if the Chinese people are OK with the form of gov't there, it's not my or the US/ZATO gov'ts business to tell them they can't live as they choose. About 10 years ago, 90% of the people of Crimea voted CONSTITUTIONALLY to secede from Ukraine, and yet Western gov'ts choose to ignore this DEMOCRATIC fact.
Humans survived by cooperation and sharing of resources, but unfortunately the 'red in tooth and claw' aspect of our survival has morphed from killing animals for food to killing other humans, usually more about ego and greed than securing sustenance.
Odious Debt? Another control mechanism, so the Oligarchs can wag the financial/economic dog. Why do we allow our 'leaders' to engage in this well-documented ancient power-play BS is not mystery... the fact so few humans can face the truth is the mystery...maybe getting people to believe in 'unrelated' things that aren't true is good for business. Like Religion, or Marxism, or Capitalism... choose your preferred poisoned label.
I see what you mean and I agree that what the vast majority of people want, is how it should go. But another thing that they hoodwinked us with is thinking that if we vote for people, it means we are having a say. No, no, no! Voting for people makes not a whit of difference. Because a person has so many opinions and drives and can change their minds daily. So it doesn't make sense at all - and they know it! It is voting for proposals that makes sense. And that's what we need to do rather than vote for people. If voting for people mattered, they wouldn't let us do it. And of course the count of the vote is for sure doctored, because we are dealing with liars and the scum of the earth types. I wish people would realize that voting for people is totally useless and even dangerous. I agree that religion, Marxism, Capitalism, are myths and ideologies and these do not serve us and are actually dangerous. Oh boy humanity sure is in knots - can't seem to see its way out of a paper bag.
I agree 100%, current 'representative democracies' are anything but, especially where low-membership political parties are allowed to pre-select candidates. In Canada, the Libs claim ~400k members and the Cons ~600k. So ~1 million party members decide who they want to present for PM out of 28 million eligible voters. I expect other 'democracies' are similarly front-loaded and gerrymandered.
On the other hand, direct democracy depends on a fully informed electorate, which under the current Oligarchic Regimes is carefully avoided.
How we get from 'here' to a more democratic democracy is the eternal Gordian Knot.
I flew quite a bit, even as kid, and I couldn't agree more. I stopped flying about a decade ago because of TSA harrassment, but it had been going downhill for long before that. I used to love flying, even the airport experience of people-watching and chatting in the bar before a flight. I remember the cute little soaps in the bathroom, little extras like toothbrushes and mouthwash and real cloths. That wasn't first class either! An edible meal with a mini-bottle of perfectly drinkable wine came with your ticket and sometimes on flights I'd meet awesome people and they were so happy to be there and going on vacation a group would break out in song (after copious drinking I'm sure). It sucks so bad now it's like folks are holding their breath until they arrive, unsure what kind of misery to expect next. It's horrible and inhumane.
This is all intended to incrementally condition the masses to quietly accept such losses of dignity, freedom and acquiesce to generally lower expectations in standard of living in 'developed' societies. Not that the 'developing nations' will benefit much, they should be happy as colonies and vassals.
Who cares about all the potholes in our streets, bridges literally falling down, tap water not fit for drinking, because on 'our behalf', our gov'ts and their Rothschild Class masters are 'saving the planet' and 'spreading democracy'. All those weapons won't kill soldiers, civilians and children by themselves, that's why you pay taxes. Doesn't matter CO2 needs to stay well above 180ppm so plants will grow, y'know so we po'folks can eat.
The Rothschild/Adelson/WEF/AIPAC Uniparty is now firmly ensconced in most 'democracies' and banking worldwide, and is intent on destroying any country that doesn't kowtow to the WEF Great Reset or Trumpty Dumbdy's Economic Tariff-Tantrum. The emergent WEF Young Leaders and groomed Trudeau/Carney/Vance/Hegseth crowd will soon be filling in behind the likes of Klaus Schwab and Biden/Trump, so no one can blame it all on the Boomers anymore. Kids, these are YOUR generation, sucks to be led around by such obvious dolts and ne'er do wells, eh?
The Great Reset cannot happen without the Masses clamouring to our 'leaders' to 'save us'... who wouldn't want to live a life free from worry or want, where 'our betters' make every decision for us? Adulting is hard, as my grown-up kids are now figuring out. But "You will own nothing, rent everything and be happy" sounds SO appealing, as long as you don't notice the unspoken 'Or Else'. Or Else meaning, don't dare speak out or you'll be jailed, perhaps deported or worse, simply 'disappeared'.
It has been 20 years since I boarded a plane (even domestically) or crossed the US border (I live less than 50 miles from it). All my friends and relatives thought I was 'over reacting' back then, but oddly, not so much now that all that I warned them about is happening before their eyes.
I didn't fly until I was 22, in 2002, so I never go to experience flying in the pre-9/11 days but when I watch old movies/tv shows that involve flying it seems like a much better experience. No degrading security lines, the seats were actually big enough to sit comfortably, and you actually got more than a bag of nuts and a glass of tepid water. Flying now is like running a gauntlet, first it's checking your bags, for which you now have to pay, then through security, where you cannot bring a bottle of fucking water through, until you're finally released into the general population of $10 bottles of water, $20 hamburgers, and standing in line again to board your plane. The whole system is designed to extract ever last cent of profit possible from those who are flying, security is nothing but kabuki theater that accomplishes nothing beyond giving diversity hires employment at our expense.
I used to bring an empty water bottle along to be filled at a drinking fountain. You have to stay hydrated on those long overseas trips and I refused to spend $10 on a stinking bottle of water.
As you point out, air travel is emblematic of a trend in the relationship of the governors to the governed that is accurately described as "dehumanizing". We are problems to be managed, not human beings to be respected and valued. It's almost a commodification of human life. I will resist this trend with every power I can, and I hope many others will as well. It is the road to perdition.
All of the human and mineral resources are owned and controlled by the 1% mega rich to whom humans are a thing to be used, exploited and thrown away like garbage. I remember State Secretary in 1970's Henry Kissinger describing people as "useless idiots!
How many elections have we gone through since 1776 and voted for our representatives to help make this country a place where the average Joe can attain the American Dream? When we vote we expect politicians to pass legislation to make our living conditions better. Today they are at their worst. Voting is for morons who are inoxicated by hopium. The American Dream is a damned LIE! Only imbeciles believe blindly in a fiction!
Psychopaths rule the masses by introducing fear at every opportunity. It ios their most efficatious weapon! Fear the boogeyman i.e. the Muslim, Iraqis, Iranians, Russians, Chinese, etc.. Fear the invisible viruses like H5N1 bird flu, swine flu, Ebola, Mad Cow Disease, HIV, Polio, measles, tetanus, SARs-CoV-2 etc.. All vaccines are BIOWEAPONS which will cause a terible disease years, or decades later. They are designed that way purposely. You cannot then claim the vaccine as the cause of the disease. They designed the vaccines in thousands of Class 4 Biolabs all over the world that spans well over a hundred years. They designed them with Malice Aforethought. This is Premeditation. This means it is MURDER!
We are at WAR! The CABAL is in the process of exterminating 7.5 billion of human beings. On the Georgia Guidestone there was this message chiseled into granite in four languages: The Earth can only support 500 million people. They will murder 7.5 billion of us if we do not use brute force to stop these monsters.
My motto is: The Final Solution is Total Dismantling of the Cabal!
No need to dismantle anything - that takes energy we could be using to build the new. We can built it by using alternative systems for example a local currency (not crypto) That would be most useful as it is the money system that truly solidifies power. But how many are looking to opt out and thus looking for alternatives? Hardly anyone. I have been for over ten years and believe me there are precious few who are. Hopefully that will change when people get sick to the back teeth of being treated like "garbage" as you say.
I stand corrected Denise Ward! Dismantling a system is counterproductive i.e., colossal waste of precious time and energy.
If I may suggest to all of you on this stack, that you read all the books written by Joseph Chilton Pearce. His work explains how the underlying biological/natural processes at play in our lives are derranged resulting in our species hurtling on a path of devolution. This pells an existential threat to our species and of the Earth itself. You will never be the same after reading these books.
You said exactly what I am feeling every time I go through the airport. I feel processed as cattle. I remember in the late 90's and early 2000s I was often on the trans-Atlantic flights alone with my two children who were very young at the time, and it was a quite pleasant experience. Easy check in, comfortable seats, very kind and helpful flight crews. TSA has to go!
I know one, highly paid "frugal" commercial pilot - so their narcissism may not be the norm: Despite having a degree in biology they were unable to grasp any flaw in 'virus vs mask', + openly stated that the unvaccinated "will just have to find another way to travel" - even while said unvax'd taxpayer supplemented said "science -based" pilot to fly a bunch o empty jets around continuously because "critical infrastructure." Yet critical infrastructure was withheld from forcibly taxed, as punishment for refusing to participate in fundamental violation of medical ethics and macabre medical experimentation.
Later I went so far as to pull FAA health policy doc off the internet to send to said narcissist, since it clearly stated that they are NOT to take experimental medications ever, and that they are not to fly for (I think it was 24 hrs,) even with a fully-FDA-appproved vaccination. My idea was, if this is not being followed, what else is amiss - you know, logical critical thinking stuff. .. I forwarded it asking if either of these written policies had been their experience....
And the simple reply, "I am not a medical specialist."
No shit?
That was never the question but o course, "What has contributed to your success?" was never a question, and they were continually answering it however.
Oh, and they never ever drive anywhere they can fly to.
And also the pilot (like the Marines, I read here) treated like dog-poop when occasionally forced to go through TSA ritual. Hysterical really ... that TSA procedure could stop a pilot (or a Marine) from downing the craft for any reason.
Anecdotes all, yet sure seem consistent with the prison-conditioning culture the author illuminated here.
Course now we need a passport too. The fun may never end!
Well said, Susie. Well said.
Absolutely.

Ironic and depraved.
The Marines do a fine job of that themselves.

The unkindest cut of all: degrading those who write blank checks of their lives to serve the homeland
This strikes a chord. Now there are many places we cannot enter without being subject to scrutiny, searches, scans and metal detectors. This includes sporting events, courts, and even some public schools.

Electronic Health Record.
I was asking about "sincere" physicians....

Mea culpa.
I resigned.

While they still jack up prices.
There's a lot of what I call "prisoner training" in daily life, it's good to read someone pointing it out so clearly!

On the other hand, direct democracy depends on a fully informed electorate, which under the current Oligarchic Regimes is carefully avoided.
How we get from 'here' to a more democratic democracy is the eternal Gordian Knot.
Yes.
You can opt out of the facial camera, AND the full body scam.
The metal detector is not that bad of radiation unlike the full body scam device.
I always ask for the pat down and make fun of the entire scenario to keep my dignity.
great view on how we are manipulated to accept and pay for our overlord controllers. Look forward to you upcoming series
We live under a Planetary Military Occupation!
The Earth is a Captured Prize.
Live Free or Die!
MOLON LABE!
Wake up folks!
Have long thought the same myself.
Def hit a chord!
